Espresso Joe's

Location: Keyport, NJ

Genre: Contemporary/Internet Cafe

A local gem in the Keyport community, Espresso Joe's has become the place to "get wired" as well as the hangout for locals. The Wednesday Open-mic Nights are a draw, and if you call or visit you can inquire about visiting musicians on their events calendar. I consider myself an espresso junkie, and whenever I'm looking for a pick-me-up I go and get my Double Americano with English Toffee and cream! The espresso is SUPER fresh, and all sandwiches are made-to-order (which also means fresh). Espresso Joe's is the embodiment of what cafes are all about, and I love local businesses that are unique and hip. Make sure you stop by the next time you're in Keyport!

Cafe 360

Location: East Main St. Freehold, NJ

Hours: Mon-Fri: 6:30am - 11ish, Sat/Sun: 11am-11ish

Genre: European cafe and eatery

My first visit to Cafe 360 must have been about two years ago (2007) and I stopped in hoping for some lunch. Little did I know that I had found another cultural hot spot for myself and my friends. Not only do they make their own fresh gelato, they have manual espresso machines which produce the most heavenly lattes and cappuccinos! It can be a little pricy if you are looking to buy a meal and desserts, because while the sandwiches are not too expensive the gelato can run from $3-$6 each. It's a delicious treat that is worth trying out, even if you are deterred by the cost. When you stop in for your snacks and decadence, be sure to do so on a Saturday night. That's when they have their live music performed by local vocalists and guitarists; it's loud, it's fun, it's cool! If, however you're not a loud, group-y type you can always come during the afternoon to take advantage of their free wi-fi and study with a tasty Falafel Pita and tea. There's an atmosphere for all at Cafe 360!
